A Journey from Confusion to Confidence: Saanvi’s Math Story

When Numbers Become a Struggle

Math wasn’t always Saanvi’s friend. A bright and curious Class 6 student, she often found herself lost when it came to subtraction with borrowing or tackling large multiplication problems. Her marks didn’t reflect her intelligence, and most importantly, she was beginning to lose confidence.

Then one day, I received a WhatsApp message from her mother. She shared her concern — Saanvi was struggling with math and no longer enjoying the subject. As I do with all students before enrollment, I scheduled a pre-course interaction with both Saanvi and her mother. These conversations are essential because I always aim to understand a child’s mindset and make sure we’re the right fit for each other.

During the session, I could clearly see that it wasn’t a lack of ability — Saanvi simply hadn’t met the right guidance yet. She needed support, encouragement, and techniques that would help her connect with math in a fun, meaningful way.

Starting the Right Way Makes All the Difference

Once I selected her for my course and she enrolled, things began to shift quickly. Even in the initial sessions, her attitude changed. She was no longer afraid to try. She embraced my approach to solving subtraction with borrowing and started enjoying big multiplication problems — something that once caused her stress.

Her speed and accuracy showed almost 100% improvement. The fear was gone. In its place was confidence, curiosity, and a new love for problem-solving.

Math Beyond the Classroom

What made me smile the most was hearing from her mother that Saanvi started applying my mental math techniques at school too — with confidence and pride. That’s the magic of learning math the right way: it doesn’t just help in class or exams, it transforms the way a child sees challenges.

Her mother was truly thankful for the progress, but I always believe the credit belongs to the child. Saanvi took charge of her learning, trusted the process, and gave it her best. That’s what made all the difference.

Every Child Deserves a Chance to Shine in Math

As a math coach, I meet many children who think they’re “not good at math.” But more often than not, it’s just that they haven’t found the right approach yet. Saanvi’s story is a reminder that with the right guidance, patience, and positivity, every child can go from confusion to confidence.

And that’s what my one-on-one live courses are all about — creating a space where children are not just taught math, but inspired to enjoy it.
